The "Press Release" was sent to Peter Lynn's factory in Ashburton, NZ, on the 31st March 1994 (so that it arrived on the morning of April 1st their time) Not only did Peter fall for it completely, but it took in the entire factory. Kerri Lynn (the lawyer of the family) looked up the dubious patent number 940401 (think about the date...), to find that it was an expired patent held by a chemical company, but although this proved that the patent number was invalid, she didn't call into question the notice. Other clues included the sign-off: "You might be wondering why we called this the Orange... It's because our previous kite [the Modulus] was a Lemon." (They assumed that the Spider crew had developed a sense of humour) It was a couple of months before I spoke to Peter again, and he was completely floored by the relevation. I have a very strong suspicion that a significant amount of the development of the Paua was done in those weeks... Andrew -- Properly used, a hand straps go between index and middle finger, then open, to go round the back of the hand (above the thumb). Used as wrist straps, whilst comfortable in use, they will compress the delicate joints in your, wrist, leading slowly to the nasty, slow to heal, Carpal Tunnel syndrome.
