For those of you following my trials and tribulations with this 10m, I'm happy to report that after a few more adjustmests, it's now flying well (at last!) I guess I've re-tuned this kite maybe about 10 times now (each time unpicking around a dozen knots and stopper-knots in 80lb Spectra). I wish that I had some great secret to reveal, but no, the lessons are fairly basic: 1) When you have a problem that starts at the tips, adjust the tips, don't ignore them. 2) Make small changes 3) Keep going. Don't give up. 4) Do whatever seems obvious. 5) If it doesn't work, undo it. 6) Believe in yourself. Ths final set up is distressingly close to how it was to start with. *sigh* At least, it seems to be working well (pulling well, turning well and being user friendly and forgiving) in the thermaly wind we've got today in Basingstoke. Matthew won't get it back till I've checked it in a decent breeze. Now I can go back to the 10m that's taking shape on the floor with a little more enthusiasm...
