I do that too. This 30mph/buggy-hook/tandem down-turn is a particular favorite of mine. Down-turns are loads of fun, but they tend to drag you way down-wind (provided that you're flying a sufficiently large kite...). Looking back, I think I was making excuses for myself. When the kite is (eventually) properly tuned, the problem goes away. One think I forgot to add to my posting this morning about what I've learned from tuning the 10 is that any thoughts of publishing plans have been pushed *way* back. I've seen too many wrong ways to tune a Chevron in the last three weeks. It's bad enough having to go back and correct the stuff that I've built - I don't want a whole load of other people with Chevrons that don't fly right too. >Hey, that 5m Chevron you built for John Gabby that I flew was actually >turning *inside* the wingtip (wingtip was flying backwards). Valve vents would do the job well, but they introduce several other problems... >When a quadliner does a >propeller spin, does his kite stay inflated (I honestly don't know)? No. All the ones that I've seen deflate. Andrew -- Never *ever* cross post from rec.kites to alt.folklore
